Development Update 2023

Jan-9-2024

Dear Busy Community,

We would like to take a few minutes to highlight the main advancements in BusyDAO’s 2023.

Much was achieved this year that we could not have done without support from our community, Thank you!

Reestablishing and advancing the original concept of BusyDAO as an L1 solution & DAO engine.

BusyDAO originally started in 2020 to create a decentralized blockchain-based freelance platform. Since then the solution has outgrown the original purpose and developed into a distributable engine that will in the near future allow all e-commerce and other projects to leverage it in making their own DAO platform.

Busy DAO reimagined:

During 2023 team considered every factor of today’s e-commerce market and chose to revaluate from focusing BusyDAO only for the main freelance platform and allow to use of the original engine across multiple e-commerce platforms.

That will allow all projects to leverage the same solution, test it improve it to adapt to multiple use cases and platforms.

The team also decided to make an effort to offer BusyDAO as a fully open-source engine to make it more accessible to the public and better adjust and improve in the future.

Busy DAO engine enables spreading Busy utility across multiple ecosystem projects, In 2024 Busy DAO team will incentivize new projects to test our engine to find bugs and potential improvements and mainly continue using the engine for future development of the new generation of DAO platforms mainly in the e-commerce area.

BusyDAO consists of all functions and applications based on the initial whitepaper, but is highly improved and evolved into a working distributable (in future open source) engine. Many excellent implementations were added during the years 2022-2023.

List consist engine functions like:

BusyDAO chaincode — reimagined and tested during 2022-2023, waiting to be audited / ready to launch.

BusyDAO governance updated and tested — governance and voting functions developed for BusyDAO-based ecosystem platforms.

The original engine system consists of phases and slots mechanism — the functionality is dedicated and developed for the original freelance platform and was reimagined for all BusyDAO ecosystem platforms. now all ecosystem platforms platform will tether and implement both chaincode functionalities.

Utility staking 33% p.a. that allows ecosystem platforms to leverage the original concept of Busy DAO engine staking solution, to be able to manage a stable ecosystem and liquidity.

NFT protection — special NFT types of tokens are now part of the distributable BusyDAO engine. All Ecosystem platforms and users will use it to assign/create NFT to their deliveries (projects, files, images, etc.).

Platform Engine — The core product of BusyDAO is about to be finalized for alpha testing.

Reimagined Antispam messaging — a unique concept to eliminate spam on the BusyDAO chaincode is now available as part of the distributable (in future open source) BusyDAO engine. The Antispam principle is simple and the same as the original solution; two wallets/users will simply exchange their coins that behave like a message carrier. It will be costly only for a spammer, but legitimate users in conversation will be able to use this feature without any fees.

Smart contract-based contract creation and the dispute are still in development as it is the most challenging part of the solution, this part will be added after the initial launch of the BusyDAO engine as an addition that can be implemented in later versions.  DAO dispute decentralized solution will be Tethered with the later version of BusyDAO chaincode, if the function will be implemented in the ecosystem platforms, users of these platforms will provide a decision-making process, and fully decentralized functionality without a central authority. Users will decide the final verdict.

Late 2022 testing implementation and review:

BusyDAO chaincode code has been refactored many times by separating a few internal functions into individual packages. The separation leads to a more modular schema that leads to increased security, clearance of the code, and network response.

An additional element was implemented to protect staking addresses during the phase transition. During the period of phase transitions and whilst recalculating the staking parameters, the claim function will be temporarily rejected. This will guarantee that the staking reward will always have the correct balance for the user.

We worked on documentation for solving emergencies. We have simulated various attacks on the chaincode, recorded individual results, and then applied enhancements to ensure the highest possible functions functionality during such events.

We have tested and successfully simulated multiple disaster scenarios. Recovery tools for blocks, transactions, and balances have been finalized.

We put the chaincode under extreme load to obtain data on the parts’ speed, delay, performance, and the entire solution. We focused on fixing possible bottlenecks and millisecond delays in the network. We have enhanced blockchain indexing for faster querying of the data. Block time was set to 300 milliseconds.

Over a few days, an average of 50 transactions per second was processed (in one block). During this period, blockchain processed millions of transactions. The final data from the latest test (running for only seven days) counts 261 473 blocks, 1,367 119 transactions, and 27 210 addresses (including wallets and staking addresses).

BusyDAO network infrastructure that can work fully independently has been completed. There is an option for adding peers to the network. Each user can support the decentralization of the entire network.

Additional encryption has been implemented across all functions and data storage.

We analyzed the need for the monitoring and configured alerts and monitoring. We have implemented internal monitoring policies (Prometheus, Grafana, Benchmark, …) in the Kubernetes network. The BusyDAO Team is aware of any event or unwanted activity 24/7.

BusyDAO chaincode audit has been performed. Two low-key vulnerabilities were found and received a few suggestions. All vulnerabilities, including suggestions, were implemented, re-validated, and audit-confirmed.

The 2022 penetration test of the BusyDAO chaincode has been completed with no vulnerability found.

The 2023 reimagined version waiting to be audited.

Token: Busy is now an ERC-20 token, The current token is a temporary solution for early adopters, the token will be moved and swapped into the main network which will function as a utility carrier & currency for BUSY DAO engine ecosystem platforms.

Explorer

Data Explorer is available for Testnet: https://www.explorer.testnet.busydao.io/

Desktop Wallet

Desktop Wallet integrated with BusyDAO chaincode. and will be connecting part of all BusyDAO ecosystem platforms

Reimaginated Desktop Wallet Testnet will released for the users to test.

After the next round of community testing and bug-hunty events, BUSY DAO wallet will be ready to be released, together with the BusyDAO engine (preview of V2/ old version of BUSY DAO wallet https://youtu.be/peWFYsxcqkQ

Freelance Platform was reimagined into a distributable engine eg. BusyDAO platform engine

This engine will be open source in the future and will be distributable across an infinite amount of platforms mainly focused on e-commerce.

Open source engine will be connected with BusyDAO wallet and BusyDAO chaincode through API.

The user’s profile and admin section are finalized, alongside smart contract creation between both parties and messaging.

In Q1 2024 BusyDAO engine will be released to the public in a testing version.

In Summary

The year 2023, was a year of reimagination of BUSY DAO into (in the future an open-source) DAO engine, that secures BusyDAO solution place on the market in a more extensive way than ever before.

Few additions:

BUSY DAO team decided to move away from the Ethereum ecosystem and target only future main network partners, For that reason Busy token was removed from Uniswap DEX and will be tradable only on partner exchanges eg. Gate.io

Busy DAO team also decided to stop supporting Meta products, because we stand on values like privacy, free speech, and decentralization as building bricks of DAO solutions.

From this perspective, it will be very difficult to support Meta products and silently support their approach to user privacy.

What is next?

The main parts of the BusyDAO engine are ready for public testing and auditing in 2024. in Q1 of 2024 we will release a reimagined version of the BUSY DAO engine to the public, after testing and auditing nothing will stand in the way of the able public finally benefiting from the BUSY DAO engine.

Thank you again for your continuous support and looking forward to our 2024 adventure!
